About us

With more than 100 years of history in Australia and New Zealand, we have long-established, deep client relationships and broad product capabilities. As one of the few full-service financial institutions in Australia and New Zealand, local corporations and institutions, multinationals, governments and private clients rely on us for market-leading financial services — a confidence bred from our strength and ability to deliver integrated services across the Corporate & Investment Bank, Asset & Wealth Management and Commercial Banking.

We have operated in the Asia Pacific region for over 150 years, and today are present across 17 markets in the region. Clients rely on our global strength, local expertise and leadership across our lines of business.

In Asia Pacific, we are committed to helping promote economic growth and economic inclusion through our key philanthropic initiatives in the areas of workforce readiness, small business development and financial capability. Our investments aim to increase the number of quality jobs created for the underserved individuals and communities, helping small businesses become more sustainable, as well as assisting marginalized people in gaining access to affordable financial products so that they can become more financially secure. This shared commitment to the community drives our Foundation’s giving and employee engagement and volunteering activities across the region.

J.P. Morgan is a global leader in financial services, offering solutions to the world's most important corporations, governments and institutions in more than 100 countries. As announced in 2020, JPMorgan Chase will deploy $2 billion in philanthropic capital around the world by 2025. We also lead volunteer service activities for employees in local communities by utilizing our many resources, including those that stem from access to capital, economies of scale, global reach and expertise.

Local presence

Message from the Chief Executive Officer, Australia and New Zealand

"At J.P. Morgan, our global footprint is one of our greatest strengths. Our ability to leverage the breadth and depth of the firm's capabilities to serve our clients sets us apart. Our approach to business is to act locally and think globally to support our clients' global mindset.

Our commitment to helping clients in Australia and New Zealand dates back to the 19th century. As a result of our enduring presence, we have built long-term and trusted relationships with local industry leaders, financial institutions, governments, regulators, family-owned businesses, and private clients.

We have strong ties to the community and we are passionate about giving back, supporting non-profit organisations with philanthropic capital and through employee volunteering. We are focused on diversity, equity and inclusion and recruiting top talent, whether it is young individuals who join our internship programs or more experienced individuals wanting a career in the financial services sector.

As we continue to grow and build our franchise, we strive to develop and retain talent, leverage our strength, global reach, expertise, and relationships, and continue providing our clients with the best solutions."

Giving back to our local community

Being a good corporate citizen and operating with integrity is central to how we do business. We believe that we have a responsibility to harness our business, talent and global presence to strengthen economies and communities. J.P. Morgan’s corporate responsibility initiatives in Australia and New Zealand focus on workforce readiness programs for underserved youth and aim to support the communities in which we live and work.

We know that our strongest asset is the talent of our employees. The GoodWorks Program is an employee-led volunteer program that allows employees to identify opportunities where they can make a difference and create meaningful impact through local community service activities.

J.P. Morgan has been a long-term supporter of the Art Gallery of New South Wales and provided free access to the public to the Brett Whiteley Studio, the workplace and home of Australian artist, Brett Whiteley (1939-1992) in Sydney’s Surry Hills for 20 years. In 2023, we became a major partner of The Tank Gallery Exhibition Series, held in The Tank Gallery, which was once used to fuel the naval fleets in WWII, that has been transformed into a spectacular art space and is one of the highlights of the Sydney Modern Project.

The firm continues to acquire artworks to ensure that our local collection remains dynamic, and reflects our focus on diversity, equity and inclusion. The acquisitions represent younger, women, First Nations and LGBTQ artists, presenting a more contemporary view of art in Australia.
