“The work we’re doing in the future state of applied research is going to make a difference tomorrow,” Erin King, Chief Information Officer, Commercial Banking at JPMorgan Chase, told the audience at MIT Technology Review’s (MITTR) EmTech conference.

King’s keynote addressed the firm’s modernization journey, which includes the research and application of emerging technology. She also shared how Commercial Banking is leveraging innovation in cloud, data and AI/machine learning technologies to deliver powerful solutions, support more agile business processes and leverage data insights that help the $11.5 billion business meet the changing needs of its clients.

“We knew that AI/ML was going to need the power of public cloud to scale to the level that was necessary,” King said, sharing reasons for the business’ focus on modernization. “It’s also our responsibility to protect the firm and our clients, providing them with innovative products and platforms that can enable them to grow and thrive,” she added.

JPMorgan Chase was a lead sponsor of EmTech MIT. The annual conference is MITTR’s flagship event on emerging technology and global trends. “EmTech MIT brings business leaders, researchers, technologists, and industry experts together on the MIT campus to explore how changes in the biggest areas of tech – AI, biotech, and climate innovations – are poised to impact our businesses and our lives,” MIT Technology Review said.
