Head of Internet of Things and Ubiquitous Computing, Global Technology Applied Research

Dr. Shaohan Hu joined the Global Technology Applied Research team as Head of Internet of Things.

Dr. Hu's main interest lies in the area of Internet of Things and Ubiquitous Computing, with a focus on exploring novel applications and services for both individuals as well as large populations via interdisciplinary solutions across the fields of Mobile Computing, Wireless Sensing, Security and Privacy, Signal Processing, Machine Learning and Cloud Computing. He has an extensive publication record and has served on the technical program committee and review board for numerous conferences and journals in related fields. His work has been covered by Technology Review, CBS News, and the New York Times.

Prior to joining the Global Technology Applied Research Center at JPMorgan, Shaohan spent several years at IBM T. J. Watson Research Center as a Research Staff Member after receiving his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
