Holly:

I'm Holly Thaggard, the Founder and CEO of Supergoop.

We are an SPF obsessed team, inspired to change the way the world thinks about sunscreen.

My background really wasn't from the beauty industry. I was a teacher. But it was years later when a friend of mine was diagnosed with skin cancer that I became inspired to change the way the world thinks about sunscreen.

What was in SPF products in 2007, was often thought of as a sticky mess you had to put up with, and where I really saw the opportunity in the white space was to do something different and deliver innovation in the category.

I really felt, and still today, know that the only way that we’re going to change consumer’s behavior and inspire a more mindset of, every single day de-seasonalizing a category, was going to come from product innovation, and retail partners that could really support this vision.

Since launching in Sephora in 2011 - just doubled our shelf space every year.

And we've proven also that we can take a category that was sleepy, and make it as attractive, 12 months a year. As an entrepreneur with a vision, I think it’s so important today that you’re not distracted by all of the outside noise about going to the right or the left and just really stay true to your vision.

You know, working with JPMorgan Chase – it’s incredibly flattering to have such a world-renowned institution behind a young brand and a mission. And JPMorgan Chase is the right partner to help us build this brand and take me on this journey.

I think we have got to get SPF onto people's skin with an epidemic that’s growing and I hope that in the next 10 years we’ve been a big part of making SPF as accessible and as widely used as bicycle helmets and hand soap.
