The J.P. Morgan Host-to-Host application will move to new strategic data centers in 2023. Listed below are common questions that will assist you in preparing for the transition to the new data centers.

  • The transition to the new data centers is scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2023.
  • Additional details will be communicated as they become available. Please refer to our Data Center Migration overview page for the latest updates.

  • All files sent to and from the J.P. Morgan platforms will be in scope.
  • If you exchange files with the Host-to-Host platform, you will be affected.

  • Confirm all file transmission applications and infrastructure components are at current, supported revision levels, and that all security patches are in place.
  • If you are using technology that cannot support current industry-standard security, please be prepared to replace it.
  • Make sure all cryptographic algorithms, ciphers and keys meet minimum security standards. More information is available on www.jpmorgan.com/visit/h2h.
  • Actions may vary based on your environment and configuration. Please ensure your technical team is aware of the upcoming change and is able to determine which components must be addressed when the J.P. Morgan host addresses change. Examples of where changes may be required can be found on our Data Center Migration overview page.
  • We will communicate additional details as they become available. To ensure that you receive these communications, please make sure that your J.P. Morgan relationship team has accurate email addresses for the members of your technical team responsible for Host-to-Host.
  • We understand that you may require technology budget and resource plans to support this change. Please contact your J.P. Morgan relationship team if you have questions.

  • The following host names on the Host-to-Host platform are in scope:

transmissions.jpmorgan.com
transmissions1.jpmorgan.com
transmissions2.jpmorgan.com
transmissions3.jpmorgan.com
transmissions4.jpmorgan.com
transmissions5.jpmorgan.com
transmissions6.jpmorgan.com
transmissions7.jpmorgan.com
transmissions8.jpmorgan.com

  • NDM Node: ECGPRODP
  • All related test and contingency setups will also be impacted.

  • Current connectivity projects are not expected to be impacted. Wherever possible, we will attempt to include provisions for the change in your current solution design to help ensure you are prepared for the transition.

  • Yes, your VPN connection will be affected by this change. J.P. Morgan network engineers will work with you to prepare the infrastructure that is needed to support the transition to the new data centers.
  • In some cases, some of this work may be done prior to the application migrations, particularly if we are engaged with you on an existing connectivity project.

  • While file transmissions will likely not change for you, the J.P. Morgan internal routing of files will change. You will be notified if you need to engage in testing during the transition.

  • Wherever possible, we will attempt to transition existing certificates and keys to the new infrastructure. When this cannot be done, you will be informed of the requirements prior to your transition.
  • If you are using any certificate or key that does not meet minimum security requirements, then it must be replaced.
  • Please refer to www.jpmorgan.com/visit/h2h for details on security standards.

  • Self-service connectivity testing will be available in both our Client Acceptance Testing (CAT) and Production environments.
  • We expect to support extensive testing of client file transmissions as part of the migration process as needed.
  • IP whitelisting is used in some portions of the J.P. Morgan infrastructure, often on both sides of the transmission.
  • You will have to identify all of your file transmission infrastructure components that rely on IP whitelists.
  • Please refer to our Data Center Migration overview page for examples of when these considerations come into play.

  • The security standards are published on www.jpmorgan.com/visit/h2h. Please refer to the related protocol support pages for details.
  • The following should be examined for alignment with J.P. Morgan policy:
        – Certificate validity periods and key strength
        – Encryption ciphers
        – Key exchange algorithms
        – Hash Message Authentication Codes (HMAC)
  • Make sure applicable utilities, libraries and applications (e.g. OpenSSH and GPG) are at current release levels.
