How it's changing

Online and Mobile

Enhanced online functionalities

Starting July, your online experience will be updated to align with our global standards, including:

  • Upfront validation when initiating your wire transactions, including mandating the provision of a purpose of payment in a new on-screen field and Charges Bearer code for cross-border and RTGS transactions.

  • Real-time transaction status reflected on screen

  • Increased transparency on FX rates and upcoming cut-offs

  • Ability to self-serve for PDF statements

As a result of the above changes, all templates relating to Riyadh branch bank accounts will be in the status “On Hold” and will require you to add a purpose of payment before they can be used again to initiate transactions.

Enhancement of SADAD bill payments initiation

Starting August, you will have a streamlined and standardized experience when creating individual SADAD transactions.

All clients will be able to create SADAD transactions using the method “Tax and Utilities” for a more intuitive initiation for all users.

You will also be able to assign a Group Name tag to your existing templates, which will allow you to initiate SADAD transactions in bulk for all templates linked to a given Group Name.

File Transmission

Introduction of validations on Host-2-Host files

Starting from Q3 2026, file validations will be enforced as published in our client guides to help facilitate Straight-Through-Processing (STP).

As a result, some files that previously passed may fail. Please review your files and make the appropriate changes to prevent payment failures.

You will also be able to subscribe to more technical acknowledgements to increase visibility of your transaction processing.

New technical acknowledgements for WPS files submitted via Host-to-Host direct send

You will start receiving L1 acknowledgements for these transactions if you are already set up to receive them for other payment types.

If you are not set up to receive these acknowledgements, you will be able to subscribe to them by reaching out to your relationship team.
