Ms. Banion:

Skin is the largest organ in our body. And one of my personal missions is to change the dialogue in our industry and focus more on skin health than just beauty. I’m Jamie O’ Banion, CEO and Founder of BeautyBio.

BeautyBio was really founded out of a deep desire to create a brand that was authentic, that was transparent, and that was really focused on education. I grew up around skincare. My father is a physician and an owner of one of the top lobs in the U.S. So for me, it’s wrong for consumers to not know what should or shouldn’t be in their product.

I did not work for a big beauty brand before I started BeautyBio. And I think it was a real benefit because I didn’t know what was right, what was wrong. Everything seemed possible. I think when you have that perspective and you’re willing to take risks, you open your mind to possibilities that would’ve been impossible to see had you only followed a path before you that every other brand had followed.

It’s important to us at this stage of a high-growth business to have a financial partner that can scale with us and that can grow with us. And J.P. Morgan certainly satisfies that. I have found the J.P. Morgan team to be incredibly creative, thinking through, “OK, what if we did this, and let’s approach it this way,” and collaborative, which is incredible. And one of the secrets to our success as a brand is that out-of-the-box creativity.

And I’m excited as we press forward to grow with J.P. Morgan and the incredible team that we’ve created together.
