  • The initiative is expected to benefit businesses across the supply chain, including manufacturers, buyers and suppliers, by helping them secure financing for operations, growth and trade activity.

J.P. Morgan Payments is expanding its collaboration with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to increase access to working capital for businesses across India through a risk-sharing framework that supports trade and working capital finance and enables more companies to access funding.

Through ADB's Trade and Supply Chain Finance Program, transactions can benefit from risk mitigation across a range of trade and supply chain finance solutions, including wider trade-related exposures.

“ADB and J.P. Morgan Payments have a long history of supporting trade together in Asia and we are pleased to extend this work to include corporates and their supply chains in India. As India's economy continues to expand, resilient domestic supply chains will be essential to sustaining that momentum. ADB’s guarantee and J.P. Morgan Payments’ financing capabilities  will help broaden support for businesses underpinning these supply chains, helping them adapt and grow in a rapidly evolving economy,” said Steven Beck, Head of Trade and Supply Chain Finance, Asian Development Bank.

The initiative also helps broader ecosystem development through efforts aimed at strengthening business and supply chain capabilities. Expanded financing capacity will be available to industries important to India's growth, including food, pharmaceuticals, electric vehicles, renewable energy and sustainability-focused sectors.

"Trade and supply chains continue to evolve across Asia, creating new opportunities as well as new financing needs for businesses. This initiative brings together complementary capabilities to help companies access the funding they need to support trade and growth," said Charley Zhang, Head of APAC Trade and Working Capital, J.P. Morgan Payments.

"India remains one of the region's most dynamic markets, with businesses continuing to invest and expand. Access to financing plays an important role in supporting that growth, particularly for companies operating across increasingly complex supply chains,” said Ankit Jajodia, Head of South Asia and ASEAN Trade and Working Capital, J.P. Morgan Payments.
