What is FOGAFIN?

FOGAFIN (Financial Institutions Guarantee Fund) is the financial authority attached to the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit, in charge of creating the mechanisms to manage Deposit Insurance in order to protect the savings of depositors in banks, financial corporations, financing, companies specialized in electronic deposits (SEDPES), under the current regulatory structure, financial entities of the types mentioned here, are supervised by the Financial Superintendence of Colombia as a regulatory entity and are obliged to register with FOGAFIN.

What is Deposit Insurance?

It is the insurance is the mechanism created to protect depositors in Colombia against the eventual liquidation of the financial institution where they have their deposits, which must be duly registered in FOGAFIN, this mechanism guarantees depositors the recovery of their savings up to 50 millions of pesos.

The Current Account allows our client to settle payments in COP using the available account balance and having access to and overdraft line which can obtain after an agile and timely process of approval.
