Bryson: If we wanted to scale this, we were going to need something that would make our tenants’ lives convenient, but also our lives convenient.

We decided that we wanted to try purchasing a duplex together. We thought, hey, this is probably something that we could actually take seriously.

It needed a lot of work, it was built in 1978. It was a really big next step, moving into true multifamily investments.

It became clear to me early on that if we were going to scale this, we were going to need something that would make out tenants’ lives convenient, but also our lives convenient.

Story makes rent collections a lot easier and the administration over the properties easier. We've got access to analytics, we've got access to financial information that updates itself in real time as tenants pay their rent.

We've been able to show that we can execute on our business plan at scale. We've done it and we can keep doing it.

After Bryson Weed found success investing in a duplex rental with two childhood friends, he took a major next step in his multifamily real estate journey. He co-founded Island View Capital Partners and bought a 32-unit rental property in Provo, Utah. It needed floor-to-ceiling work.
