Next Generation Alternative Investing is JPMorgan Asset Management’s 2008 institutional investor survey report based on a survey of 191 major institutions active in alternative investments. Over the last decade, “alternative” investments have seen steady growth, to the point that many in the industry question whether they are truly “alternative” any more. It appears that the anticipated risk-adjusted returns, diversification benefits, and high satisfaction rates with alternatives will continue to support their growth across the board—in all investor segments and alternative asset classes—outweighing investors’ concerns about overcrowding and its potential impact on performance.
