Volunteerism
J.P. Morgan Gives Back – J.P. Morgan Asia Pacific (APAC) Volunteering Programs
Volunteerism projects have been operating for several years in the region with employee participation taking place in almost every country. Plans are in place to expand our employee engagement, leveraging skills- based volunteerism. Our programs offer volunteering opportunities to J.P. Morgan business-led groups and individual employees. Employee volunteerism is being actively encouraged by the regional committee and is an important global initiative backed by the firm's senior management.

Australia
Bell Shakespeare brings live performances and education activities into more than 350 secondary schools in New South Wales enriching the cultural lives of remote, rural communities.
The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra’s education and outreach program provides a model for community access and education projects and delivers high-impact musical experiences for a cross-section of the community in Victoria.
China
Grameen Foundation provides loan capital in the impoverished areas of the Sichuan province, alleviating poverty among rural women in China.
China Poverty Alleviation Foundation offers recipients micro-credit in addition to basic skills training, reducing poverty and improving fair trade terms and conditions.
Narada Foundation’s “New Citizen School” model aims to promote quality education and social inclusion and personal development among rural migrant children.
Plan China focuses on children, promoting children rights, providing access to art, theater, sport and other educational activities.
Nanjing John Hopkins’s project supports educational programs for Chinese, American and third country students, emphasizing intellectual diversity, open exchange of values and cross-cultural linguistic understanding.
Half the Sky’s model is being adapted into State institutions in a program which will improve orphan-care, preschools and personalized learning for physically challenged children across the country.
Hong Kong
The Asia Society’s summer Asian film series is part of its Hong Kong Center's community outreach program dedicated to furthering the understanding of the countries and culture of Asia and global issues that impact the region.
J.P. Morgan / FCC / Po Leung Kuk Language Training Program (LTP) is focused on improving the English and Putonghua standards of the children and young people in residential care and has served more than 900 children over the past three years.
Harmony House’s WOW! is an innovative community empowerment project aiming at building self-esteem and linkages through networking, community education and self dependency development processes.
India
Junior Achievement India Services teaches students how they can impact the world around them as individuals, workers and consumers; opening their minds to their potential and providing a proven bridge between education and business.
United Way Mumbai assesses disaster response, provides networks with citizen groups, and mobilizes local community leadership and municipal authority for making Mumbai cleaner, greener and a better place to live.
Sandipani Gurukul offers maintenance and educational resources to help people break the poverty cycle in vermiculture, the production of eco-friendly, non-chemical fertilizers.
Parham Read India is a project improving the quality of primary education in India. It focuses on raising the standards of basic learning levels of reading, writing and arithmetic among 200,000 children, predominantly in primary classes across India.
TATA through in its nonprofit arm raises educational awareness in healthcare and related community programs.
HOBT ‘s facility is home to approximately 150 orphans and the firm's support will help to improve the quality of education for students at the day school over a 3 year period.
Indonesia
Jalan Sesama is the Indonesian adaptation of Sesame Street for HIV/AIDS awareness to help children and the community better understand HIV/AIDS – raising community awareness and providing educational initiatives.
Japan
The New National Theatre Ballet’s project provides trainees the opportunity of introducing performing arts to physically challenged children and playing a larger role in helping increase the community’s appreciation of the arts.
Triton Arts Network of mostly young Japanese musicians promotes and disseminates the art of classical music to ordinary people at the Daiichi Seamier Hall.
Korea
The Hope Institute provides educational support to young people with innovative ideas, commitment and vision for social change through public lectures, workshops and professional courses.
Bitnara Corporation is devoted to protecting and fostering childcare development programs and parental communication skills from low-income or single-parent families in the outskirts of Seoul.
Malaysia
Association of British Women in Malaysia works with charities that help the disabled, young, abused and abandoned, raising community awareness and a better understanding of physical disabilities.
Ramah Hope is a home that caters for the needs of abused and neglected children and provides academic, spiritual and moral development.
YOKUK, Kelantan Foundation for the Disabled utilizes mobile units to reach children and families with physical challenges in remote areas and provide educational initiatives to assist them.
Soroptimist International Club of Damansara supports literacy programs for underprivileged youth and children in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Perak with structured reading programs, camps and workshops on English language and funding for tutors in study techniques.
Pakistan
The Citizens Foundation supports two schools providing formal, good quality education to underprivileged children living in urban slums of Karachi with academic and operational evaluations throughout the academic year.
Philippines
GILAS - Gearing Up Internet Literacy and Access for Students provides computer libraries and computer training in public schools preparing students for better job prospects which require basic computer skills.
The Mind Museum will be the first world class science museum in the Philippines, serving as a hub for science and math education, helping to develop school curricula, professional development, and learning materials both onsite and offsite that will focus on improving math and science achievement among the 2.4 million students in low to moderate income elementary and high schools in Metro Manila.
World Vision Philippines – J.P. Morgan Learning Center offers education intervention and volunteering initiatives and serves as a functional classroom during weekdays for 800 children at Dasmarinas Central School in Cavite with poor performance metrics in Math, and English.
UNICEF Philippines aims to provide early childhood care and development services to at least 400 children in home-based and mobile facilities. It also aims to improve the capacity of parents to be better careers and financial managers.
Singapore
Asian Civilizations Museum (ACM)’s especially focuses on children's learning needs and on children with special needs. It also promotes greater appreciation of ancestral cultures and cross-cultural tolerance in Singapore's multi-ethnic society.
Singapore Disability Sports Council (SDSC) aims to integrate disabled children within the community by offering them the opportunity to participate in group activities. The programs encourage child disability education and junior sports activities.
MILK was conceived as a service to provide support and advocacy for young people who are affected by child abuse.
Taiwan
World Vision Taiwan (WVT) helps children and their families to build sustainable futures including computer learning, removing barriers to learning, while aiding the development of stronger and healthier communities.
Education Bureau Taipei County Government in response to integrating new immigrants from South East Asia, a new “Immigrants Instruction” curriculum is provided in public schools offering students education initiatives covering social humanities, law, medicine and other educational initiatives.
PaperWindMill Cultural Foundation encourages the creation of art and culture initiatives and promotes performing arts education to the public. It mirrors the Government's mandate to revitalize arts and culture in the community.
Thailand
Mae Fah Luang Foundation (MFLF) improves quality of life for some 11,000 ethnic minority people at Doi Tung, a mountainous area in Northern Thailand by providing welfare, education, know-how, and marketing support to preserve ethnic art and culture.
Vietnam
Room to Read establishes libraries in existing spaces in schools and "mobile libraries" – book carts that can be moved from classroom to classroom in partnership with local communities.
