About Sherod

Sherod Hanson is a Vice President and Wealth Advisor with J.P. Morgan Wealth Management.

With over 40 years of experience in the financial services industry, he delivers comprehensive investment strategies for corporate executives, retirees, endowments, and institutions.

Sherod draws on his knowledge, having experienced many market cycles, to create the tailored portfolios and asset allocation strategies to help clients pursue their financial objectives. He leverages J.P. Morgan's resources, research, and global investment platform to support his value-investing approach. Sherod considers the totality of each client's wealth management needs, offering access to sophisticated strategies for lines of credit, mortgages, lending and banking services.

Beginning in the profession as an advisor for Dean Witter, Sherod has devoted his entire career to addressing the personalized goals of his clients. He joined J.P. Morgan predecessor firm, Bear Stearns in 1980, working exclusively with high-net-worth individuals and families.

Sherod's experience has afforded him insights into the nuances of financial investing, tax consequences and wealth transfer strategies.

Sherod was born in Denver and grew up in Laramie, Wyoming. He moved to California to attend UCLA, graduating with a B.A. in Political Science and attended the Graduate School of Management. Sherod obtained his CPA license in 1987 but is not a practicing accountant. For several years Sherod has been a member of The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). He lives in Westwood with his wife, Jane. Their daughter recently graduated from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland

Active in the community, Sherod has served on the Investment Committee for Queens Care, a not for profit health care organization serving the underprivileged in Los Angeles County. In his free time, he enjoys skiing and sailing.
