About Joseph
Joe Hadsell is a Wealth Advisor and Executive Director with J.P. Morgan Wealth Management and a Portfolio Manager in the firm’s exclusive Portfolio Manager Program. He actively manages his clients’ portfolios, applying the breadth and power of J.P. Morgan’s world-class platform to his equity portfolio, which is based on the firm’s focus list, and to his managed fund, an asset allocation portfolio consisting of 9 to 11 different asset classes. To qualify as a Portfolio Manager, Joe has undergone a screening process and is subject to periodic review on a qualitative and quantitative basis. For the past 20 years, he has also provided 401(k) plan and defined plan consulting services for doctors’ groups, law firms and companies.
His wide range of clients—some of whom are third generation—includes doctors, lawyers, business and company owners, and retirees. Joe’s goal is to overdeliver to his clients. He emphasizes that there’s more to a successful relationship than merely knowing the products and understanding the markets; when educating his clients, he also teaches them to have a patient approach to investing. While Joe takes pride in his skillful stock selection, he recognizes that asset allocation is extremely important too.
Joe has more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. He joined J.P. Morgan’ predecessor firm, Bear Stearns Private Client Services, in 1997. Previously, he worked at Merrill Lynch. Before that, he was a Wealth Advisor at Lehman Brothers (1987–1994). Joe began working right after college for an OTC firm, where he earned his Series 7 license. His interest in the markets dates back to his childhood; he followed the stock market with his grandmother, and bought his first stocks when he was in the sixth grade.
Joe supports numerous local charities, including UCAN, a social service agency that offers services to meet the critical needs of Chicago-area youth who have suffered trauma; the Saving tiny Hearts Society (StHS), which raises seed money for lifesaving research to help children born with congenital heart defects; and Talk About Curing Autism (TACA). Joe graduated with a B.A. in Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He and his wife live in West Lincoln Park with their young son and daughter. Joe enjoys golf and fishing, and formerly competed in triathlons.
