Kevin O’Brien is a Vice President and Wealth Advisor with J.P. Morgan Wealth Management. As a member of the Nolan Group, he works closely with successful individuals, families and institutions to deliver customized investment advisory guidance in a holistic manner.
Kevin’s firsthand institutional investment background helps differentiate the team’s sophisticated wealth planning guidance. He draws on his money management experience to navigate market environments and pursue individualized goals for his clients. Kevin’s strength lies in his expansive network and ability to connect people in a synergistic fashion. A strategic thinker, he blends an analytical approach with strong relationship-building skills to play an active role in business development initiatives for the team.
With over 10 years of financial industry experience, Kevin has spent the entirety of his career at J.P. Morgan. He began as an Analyst for the Private Bank during the financial crisis, and was involved in risk and control testing to ensure mitigation strategies were in place. Kevin moved to the Investment Bank, where he focused on equity derivative sales and trading. His capabilities include a deep understanding of capital markets, money management, and the breadth of investment classes and vehicles available through the global investment platforms of J.P. Morgan.
Kevin attended Fordham University, where he earned a B.S. in Finance with a minor in Economics. Eager to begin his professional life, he held several jobs and internships while still in school, and was able to graduate a semester early. Kevin remains active with his alma mater and is on Fordham’s career development team, mentoring undergrads and MBAs about future prospects. He holds Series 7 and 63 securities licenses.
Interested in giving back, Kevin participates with City Harvest and the East Harlem Tutorial Program. He loves music, playing the guitar and attending concerts with his wife whenever he can. A big sports fan, Kevin is an avid golfer.
