Annemarie von der Goltz is a Executive Director and Wealth Advisor with J.P. Morgan Wealth Management. As a founding member of SVDG Partners, she is dedicated to protecting, growing and transferring clients’ wealth. Annemarie advises a diverse and accomplished client base that includes entrepreneurs, corporate executives, members of the fashion industry, partners of venture capital and hedge fund firms, and wealthy families.
Annemarie’s holistic approach is focused on the entirety of each individual’s financial goals—investment requirements, trust & estate objectives, philanthropy, education and retirement objectives. Her background in alternative investments primed her to identify and evaluate opportunities through a particular lens that considers risk versus reward. One of Annemarie’s main priorities is to speak the same financial “language” as her clients, as this serves as an essential building block for developing lasting relationships. Her strength lies in the integration of the many qualitative details that form the basis of a comprehensive plan.
With a steadfast desire to stand as an advocate for clients and deliver sound guidance, Annemarie and her business partner, Doug Sonnenshein, established SVDG Partners in 2011. Together, they have gained firsthand entrepreneurial insight, and are proud to have built their team from the ground up in a manner that aligns with their aspirations and ethics. As a testament to her commitment to clients, in 2021 and 2019, Annemarie was recognized by Forbes as one of America’s Top Next-Gen Wealth Advisors.1
Annemarie began her career at a boutique hedge fund in Boston, performing portfolio analysis. Eventually, she moved on to spearheading client relations for two separate private equity funds. These experiences informed Annemarie’s market perspective and investment thesis, and drove her to pursue an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School.
Upon graduation and the completion of an internship with the Private Wealth Management division at Goldman Sachs in Miami, Annemarie was recruited by several firms and joined the Credit Suisse Private Bank in New York, where she remained for five years. Annemarie has been with J.P. Morgan since 2016, drawn to the freedom and flexibility of the firm’s open-architecture platform. She holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation, one of the most respected wealth management certifications in the industry, and utilizes this knowledge while working with clients to formulate customized strategies for pursuing short- and long-term goals.
Annemarie is an alumna of St. Paul’s School in New Hampshire and attended Yale University, where she was a member of the crew team and earned a B.A. in History. She continues to be an active supporter of her alumni organizations.
Fluent in German, Annemarie lives in Manhattan, where she delights in hosting dinner parties. She travels as much as possible, enjoys wing shooting, athletic pursuits of all kinds, and is an avid reader, particularly of historical novels.
