About Ray

Ray Powers is a Vice President and Wealth Advisor with J.P. Morgan Wealth Management. He serves the comprehensive advisory needs of high-net-worth clients and their families, delivering holistic financial planning strategies that are tailored to personalized requirements.

As a member of the J.P. Morgan Portfolio Manager Program, Ray is one of a select group of advisors who undergo a screening process to manage discretionary client portfolios, and are subject to ongoing quantitative and qualitative reviews to assess each advisor’s investment strategy. Ray manages wealth from both sides of the balance sheet and takes a goals-based approach to offer advisory guidance that is in the best interests of each individual. His capabilities extend beyond investment management as he provides appropriate strategies for a wide array of financial needs including portfolio management, retirement planning, customized mortgages and trust & estate planning.

Ray partners alongside CPAs, lawyers and other consultants to help ensure that the entirety of each client’s financial picture is considered. He believes that just as most companies have a CFO to oversee their corporate financial affairs, his role as a Wealth Advisor is equally important to the families that he serves.

With more than 22 years of wealth management experience, Ray began his career at Merrill Lynch where he worked with high-net-worth and ultra-high net worth clients. While with the firm, he was a member of a team that provided feedback to Management on what clients were looking for in technology advancements. Ray draws from his deep wealth management background and translates the complexities of the financial landscape into meaningful information to deliver the best strategies available. He joined J.P. Morgan in 2019 to provide his clients with the hands-on responsiveness of a boutique firm coupled with the global strength of one of the most renowned financial institutions in the world.

A graduate of St. John’s University, Ray earned his B.S. in Business Management.

Originally from Astoria, Queens, Ray has been married to his high school sweetheart, Tania, for more than 20 years. They are the parents of two teenagers, Alexa and Anthony, and enjoy supporting their children’s artistic and athletic pursuits. Ray is the son of an American Veteran and has been a life-long advocate for Veteran’s Organizations where he lends his time and support. Involved in his community, he is a member of the Knights of Columbus as well as an active participant in UNICO National, an Italian-American philanthropic organization whose motto is “Service Above Self”.
