The U.S. Army recently honored JPMorgan Chase Chief Operating Officer Matt Zames with its Outstanding Civilian Service Award. The medal is one of the Army's top public service honors and recognizes individual men and women who make a "substantial contribution or — is of significance to the Army or to a major Army command."
The Army singled out Zames for his leadership on bringing more veterans into the civilian workforce.
To date, JPMorgan Chase has hired nearly 9,000 former servicemembers, and nearly 200 companies have joined the effort to onboard more veterans — part of the 100,000 Jobs Mission. The firm has also provided nearly 750 mortgage-free homes for veterans and their families in recent years.
