J.P. Morgan and the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women have entered into a new partnership in the Middle East to help women entrepreneurs in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) build profitable and sustainable businesses.
The 18-month partnership aims to help create businesses that are market-oriented, scalable and facilitate job creation in key growth sectors.
The new project will capitalize on growth in the region by supporting 100 women entrepreneurs. Training will enable these women to independently grow their micro- and small-businesses by equipping them with the skills necessary to succeed.
The program continues a successful regional partnership with the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women, which began in 2011 in Lebanon and is ongoing. The Lebanon project aims to reduce gender disparity in the Lebanese labor force, promote entrepreneurship among women from marginalized communities in Lebanon, and increase women's income and their employment opportunities.
The UAE project will also create partnerships with business networks and associations in the UAE to generate further collaborations with financial institutions.
