J.P. Morgan will once again be a global sponsor of the Laver Cup, an international men's tennis tournament that debuted in 2017 with Team Europe defeating Team World in a memorable battle in Prague, Czech Republic. The highly-anticipated second edition of the Laver Cup will take place at the United Center in Chicago, September 21-23, two weeks following the US Open. J.P. Morgan has been a proud sponsor of the US Open Tennis Championships since 1982 and the Women’s Singles Championship since 1996.

The Laver Cup is named in honor of Australian tennis legend Rod Laver, the only man to win two calendar-year Grand Slams and one of the greatest players of all time. “The response from our clients and other tennis fans following the inaugural Laver Cup was tremendous,” said Carlos Hernandez, Head of Global Banking for J.P. Morgan. “We’re proud to be a part of bringing an event of this caliber to the city of Chicago, and we’re excited for what’s to come.”

Some of the biggest stars in tennis, past and present, kicked off the 2018 event with an appearance in Millennium Park on March 19.
