J.P. Morgan has been named as Bank of the Year by IFR magazine.
The magazine’s top award recognizes the firm’s dominance in deals, trading businesses, and syndicated lending business and also the firm’s progress in equities, custody and fund services, and technology initiatives.
“Jamie Dimon and his lieutenants have been crafting one of the most remarkable achievements in the history of banking: building the most globally dominant financial institution since the Glass-Steagall Act dismantled the old JP Morgan after the Great Depression,” the magazine writes.
Daniel Pinto, CEO of J.P. Morgan’s Corporate and Investment Bank, credits the bank’s #1 position to “avoiding complacency” and prioritizing innovation and disruption.
