University students have voted J.P. Morgan the best undergraduate employer in the U.K.
Compared to 2016, the firm jumped 16 places in the RateMyPlacement poll of 5,500 students, who voted on their internship and placement experiences at the U.K.'s leading companies.
J.P. Morgan climbed the rankings after receiving reviews averaging 8.87 out of 10 on criteria including the amount of responsibility given, whether students felt valued by colleagues, impressions of the company overall, training and development opportunities, and transferable skills gained.
The banking and financial sector dominated this year's top rankings.
"Interns are given a fantastic opportunity to build networks and gain valuable experience through our program including working in teams on live projects," said Robert Walke and Helena Sharpe, co-heads of Campus Recruiting in EMEA.
"We provide a strong foundation of training, mentoring and resources to help them get the most from the experience. At J.P. Morgan, our internship is the primary source of talent for our graduate programme and integral to our hiring strategy."
RateMyPlacement was set up in 2007 by three university students, frustrated that they couldn't find a trusted source of information to find placement and internship opportunities.
The website receives more than 2.5 million student visitors each year and is home to over 45,000 student reviews, which rate undergraduate work experiences across placements, internships and vacation schemes at over 2,000 U.K. companies.
