A new report released as part of the Global Cities Initiative — a joint project between the Brookings Institution and JPMorgan Chase & Co. — profiles the Paris Metropolitan Region’s international competitiveness, connections and economic growth.
Co-authored by IAU Île-de-France, this research provides a framework for Paris, a major hub for global trade and investment in Europe, to examine its competitive position in the global economy, offering information and insights to inform government and private sector leaders working to build on France’s prosperity. The profile benchmarks the Paris Metropolitan Region’s competitiveness against eight other regions globally that resemble its size, wealth, productivity, and industrial structure (Boston, Chicago, London, Los Angeles, New York, Rotterdam-Amsterdam, San Francisco, and Tokyo). This research follows a series of reports completed in Johannesburg, Stockholm and Santiago.
