Hong Kong – J.P. Morgan announces its continued partnership with Sodateage Net, a Japanese NPO committed to support young people’s economic independence, through a second grant from the JPMorgan Chase Foundation to launch an enhanced program, “Youth Drive for Secure jobs”.
Sodateage Net supports disadvantaged young people (age 15-39) to become economically independent, through a diverse range of employment support seminars, skill development workshops and career guidance. The NPO manages programs in collaboration with private companies and also with the Ministry of Labor and Welfare to run the “Youth Support Station Program”.
Earlier this year, Sodateage Net successfully completed a J.P. Morgan funded “Youth Drive” program. The program supported more than 1,200 unemployed young people and achieved close to 50% job placement rate.
This time, “Youth Drive for Secure Jobs” program is expected to reach out to 2,000 young people to get job through providing comprehensive support program including technical and soft skill training, job seminar, career consulting, company visits and internship.
“We are delighted to continue supporting Sodateage Net. Supporting socially isolated young people to become economically independent and socially responsible is extremely important and also beneficial to the community. Our employees will also be involving in some training session by contributing their expertise,” said Steve Rinoie, J.P. Morgan’s Senior Country Officer for Japan.
“Our mission is to support young people’s economic independence and connect them with the society. Ultimately we are aiming to create a society where all young people can be an active part of society by getting a job and continue working. We are delighted about the continued partnership with J.P. Morgan as it would enable us to reach out to a larger population of young people. We will look deeper into our labor market and try to close the gap between young people and society,” said Kei Kudo, founder and Director, Sodateage Net.
