J.P. Morgan announced today the launch of the J.P. Morgan Schools Challenge, a new initiative aimed at helping students from low-income backgrounds explore career opportunities and make informed choices on educational subject options during a crucial time in their lives.
Over the course of the year, J.P. Morgan will partner with local non-profit organizations as well as universities to run a competition and career/employability skills workshops for the students. In teams, students from London, Bournemouth, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Paris will be tasked with delivering enterprising and creative solutions to real life challenges around the environment and health affecting their communities. The challenges will be set by non-profit partners EcoActive and WaterAid at a launch event at J.P. Morgan’s London office today. English physicist and Advance Fellow of Particle Physics at the University of Manchester and BBC television personality, Professor Brian Cox, will be speaking at the event.
