New report from the Global Cities Initiative focuses on Santiago

Apr 14, 2016

A new report released as part of the Global Cities Initiative — a joint project between the Brookings Institution and JPMorgan Chase & Co. — profiles the Santiago Metropolitan Region’s international competitiveness, connections and economic growth.

Co-authored by Centro de Estudios Públicos, this research provides a framework for Santiago, a major hub for global trade and investment in Latin America, to examine its competitive position in the global economy, offering information and insights to inform government and private sector leaders working to build on Chile’s prosperity. The profile benchmarks the Santiago Metropolitan Region’s competitiveness against eight other regions globally that resemble its size, wealth, productivity, and industrial structure (Hangzhou, Nanjing, Johannesburg, Warsaw, Istanbul, Mexico City, Rio de Janeiro, and Ankara).
