Firm is a proud sponsor of Africa’s PAST

J.P. Morgan has sponsored the Paleontological Scientific Trust (PAST) over the last two years. PAST is a Johannesburg-based organization dedicated to protecting, preserving and promoting Africa’s ancient fossil heritage for the benefit of humankind’s future.

J.P. Morgan is a proud sponsor of PAST’s Scatterlings of Africa program, a pan-African initiative that further explores humankind origins. The unique two-year business sponsorship has helped fund the excavation of “Little Foot”, research grants and scholarships. “Little Foot”, discovered in the Sterkfontein caves in 1997, is the most complete Australopithecus skeleton ever found.

Development of Africa’s fossil heritage for the benefit of the continent requires coordination and equitable distribution of private, corporate and government support for the creation of sustainable origin sciences education, research and public outreach programmes. J.P. Morgan’s sponsorship of PAST aligns with the firm’s commitment to diversity.
