J.P. Morgan has launched an initiative to support social enterprises in China as part of the firm’s commitment to boosting small business growth in the region.
The firm is working with Ai You Foundation to help scale-up social enterprises that support environmental protection, services for the elderly and disabled, and the development of rural communities.
Through a new initiative called the Ai You Philanthropy+ program, the partnership plans to boost the growth of 8-10 social enterprises.
The program has already staged its first training camp, assembling more than 60 NGOs and social enterprise leaders and focusing on skills such as strategic planning, business management, social media communications and branding.
Each social enterprise supported by J.P. Morgan will have access to at least three potential investors or donors and support from 10 business professionals.
