Trade and technology are at the forefront of the China story, topics which will continue to develop as the year unfolds. With the theme “Pathway to Prosperity”, our summit will cover the evolving economic relationship between China and the world, as the nation adapts to geopolitical realities, progresses with domestic reforms and advances through innovation. These and other current issues impacting global markets will be explored at our flagship event.
We welcomed 2,000 delegates to our 2018 summit, including investors representing firms with more than US$20 trillion of assets under management, and presented executives of more than 250 Chinese and multinational companies for one-on-one meetings and panel discussions. Speakers in 2019 will feature the Founders, Chairmen and CEOs of leading Chinese companies and global firms, renowned academics, political leaders and government officials.
Prominent past speakers have included former Prime Ministers Tony Blair and John Howard, former U.S. Secretaries of State Henry Kissinger and Madeleine Albright, former U.S. Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, former Trade Representatives Carla Hills and Charlene Barshefsky, U.S. Ambassador Terry Branstad, former Chinese Minister of Finance Lou Jiwei, former PBOC Governor Zhou Xiaochuan, former CIC Chairman Ding Xuedong and CIC President Tu Guangshao. Senior executives from the following companies have spoken at our summit: Alibaba, Apple, BMW, Carlyle, Caterpillar, Diageo, ICBC, JD.com, Lufax, Schneider Electric, Tencent and Vanke, among many others.
In addition, we will showcase J.P. Morgan’s equity and fixed income analysts, with special research sessions during the afternoon of May 9. Our comprehensive one-on-one meeting program will provide access to the region’s most prominent public companies and promising private firms throughout May 8-9.
