J.P. Morgan hires global head of Trade Finance Securitization

London, September 12, 2013 — J.P. Morgan today announced that Kah Chye Tan will join as a Managing Director and Global Head of Trade Finance Securitization, responsible for the structuring of distribution alternatives for Trade Finance Assets.

In this newly created role, Tan will work directly with both the Global Trade and Markets teams to increase Trade Finance funding capacity for the firm’s client franchise globally. Specifically, Tan will focus on creating funding structures to offer alternate financing sources for clients. He will be based in London, starting November 1.

Tan joins the firm from Barclays, where he most recently served as vice chairman of Corporate Banking with responsibility for advising the bank on Trade strategy and managing industry agendas across Global Treasury and Credit Products. Previously, he was the global head of Trade and Working Capital at Barclays, after spending six years as global head of Corporate Trade and Cash at Standard Chartered. He has also worked with Deutsche Bank, JPMorgan Chase and Citibank in various locations across Europe and Asia.

Tan serves as chair of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Banking Commission and is also a member of the ICC Finance Committee. He also serves on the World Trade Organization (WTO) Trade Expert Committee.
