Through its partnership with Planet Water Foundation, J.P. Morgan is helping to bring clean drinking water to communities across India, Indonesia and the Philippines.
As part of Planet Water’s ongoing Asia Water for Life program, sustainable water filtration systems have been installed in select public schools and communities over the last three years. The firm’s partnership with Planet Water also involves an education program that trains more than 1,900 teachers and educates over 120,000 children on safe water practices and hygiene in their classrooms and everyday lives.
In one of several water tower project sites, J.P. Morgan employees participated in activities that included the installation of water filtration systems and education awareness sessions on water health and proper hygiene with teachers, parents and children in the province of Laguna, south of the Philippines capital city of Manila.
In 2014, 25 towers will be deployed across various communities in the Philippines, including areas hit by super Typhoon Haiyan last year.
