Volunteers support Half the Sky Foundation in China
Dec 23, 2013
J.P. Morgan employees in China recently spent time at the China Care Home in Beijing, caring for orphans who are in pre- and post-operative care. Employees looked after babies and children with serious diseases recovering from surgeries, as well as those preparing for future surgeries.
For seven consecutive years, J.P. Morgan has supported the Half the Sky Foundation’s China Care Home and Rainbow Program. Half the Sky Foundation aims to enrich the lives of and enhance the prospects of orphaned children in China through pre-school programs for infants, personalized learning for older children, permanent family care, medical care and guidance for children with disabilities.
The Rainbow Program offers training to China’s welfare institutions’ staff on how to care for orphans. To date, the program has trained 26,000 child welfare workers at more than 1,000 welfare institutions across China. As a founding sponsor of the Rainbow Program, J.P. Morgan has contributed financial support to the program, as well as volunteer hours to help realize the program’s goals.
