J.P. Morgan hosts Work-Related Learning Program Cricket Day
Nov 18, 2013
In partnership with Lord’s Cricket Ground in London, J.P. Morgan has hosted a series of community events throughout the year.
Most recently, J.P. Morgan hosted a Work-Related Learning Program (WRLP) Cricket Day for students from the Evelyn Grace Academy in London. Teachers, business coaches and J.P. Morgan employee volunteers gathered with students, giving them the opportunity to experience the “Spirit of Cricket” and discuss their future career paths. The program was made possible through a partnership with ARK Schools, a U.K. education charity that aims to radically transform the life chances of disadvantaged young people through high-quality education.
Additionally, J.P. Morgan volunteers recently spent Silver Sunday, the first Sunday in October, hosting nearly 100 participants at Lord's as part of the annual day of activities for senior citizens across the U.K. In September, J.P. Morgan employees joined with local volunteers at an all-day cricket match to provide guidance and direction to attendees, answer general inquiries and assist with ticket collection.
J.P. Morgan became the primary sponsor of Lord’s Cricket Ground in 2011. The firm’s sponsorship helps Marylebone Cricket Club, the owner of Lord’s and the guardian of the laws of the game, carry on its cricket-related projects around the world.
