Institutional Investor ranks J.P. Morgan #1 in U.S. Equity Research, All-America Sales and All-America Equity Trading

Oct 11, 2013

Institutional Investor magazine has named J.P. Morgan #1 2013 All-America Equity Research team, #1 2013 All-America Equity Sales team and #1 2013 All-America Equity Trading team, based on the magazine’s most recent annual survey of clients. This is the fourth consecutive year that J.P. Morgan has earned the top ranking in U.S. equity research. The firm ranked first for its All-America Trading Team for the first time, climbing from second place last year.

The firm was ranked number one with 47 positions overall, including 19 #1 ranked analysts and 34 analysts ranked in the top three in their sector.

J.P. Morgan ranked:

  • #1 with our top 150 priority accounts for the seventh year in a row
  • #1 with clients weighted by commissions paid
  • #1 with clients weighted by assets under management and across each of the asset sizes
  • #1 across each key constituency of buy-side analysts, portfolio managers and senior management

Michael Weinstein, equity analyst covering Medical Supplies & Devices, was one of the two inductees into II’s Hall of Fame this year. The Hall of Fame honors analysts who have received at least ten first-place positions. Of the 15,000 analysts who have been ranked since the survey was launched, only 54 have met the criteria to be included.

The 2013 All-America Research Team reflects the opinions of more than 3,300 individuals from nearly 990 buy-side firms that collectively manage an estimated $10.5 trillion in U.S. equity assets.
