JPMorgan Chase is one of the best employers for military veterans, according to a new report in Military Times EDGE. The bank ranked second out of more than 1,000 companies surveyed by the newspaper focused on U.S. military affairs.
The newspaper scored corporations and top government contractors on recruiting and hiring policies, social recognition for veterans and pay and benefits for military reservists.
Military Times EDGE considered the bank’s reservist policy “one of the most generous” of any company it surveyed. The bank offers those who are activated their full civilian pay, in addition to their military pay, for an unlimited period. The newspaper also praised the bank’s mission to recruit and retain former service members – and its hiring philosophy toward veterans.
JPMorgan Chase is a founding member of the 100,000 Jobs Mission, a growing coalition of private-sector companies aiming to hire at least that number of veterans by the year 2020. More than 64,600 have been hired since the initiative started last year.
