J.P. Morgan ranked #1 in Greenwich Associates’ 2012 U.S. Equity survey out earlier this quarter. As a Quality leader, J.P. Morgan was named #1 in U.S. Equity Sales and Research, and as a Share Leader, J.P. Morgan was named #1 in Equity Research and #2 in Equity Trading.
As a Greenwich Quality Leader, the firm’s research and sales teams have been recognized by their clients as providing the industry's best quality service in a range of financial services businesses. The Share Leader designation means the firm’s research has either the biggest market share or largest footprint among market participants.
The Greenwich Associates rankings were based on surveying nearly 1,000 buy-side analysts and more than 200 investment management firms, mutual funds, hedge funds, pensions and insurers. Responses were then weighted by the amount of trading commissions each buy-side firm paid out to banks and brokerages.
Bloomberg Markets magazine reported the results, naming J.P. Morgan the Top U.S. Research Firm in their August issue. In the article, “America’s Best Stock Analysts,” J.P. Morgan had the largest number of highly ranked analysts and commanded an 11.2% vote share. J.P. Morgan had 23 analysts ranked in the top three for their sector with eight analysts ranked #1.
