J.P. Morgan participates in Earth Hour 2011
Apr 05, 2011
Hundreds of JPMorgan Chase offices, over six continents, participated in Earth Hour on March 26 by shutting off their lights for one hour in the evening. The global event brings together people dedicated to preserving the environment.
This marks the third year JPMorgan Chase joined the initiative organized by the World Wildlife Fund. Last year a record 4,500 cities in 128 took part in Earth Hour, making it the largest environmental demonstration in history.
Taking part in this event is consistent with the bank’s commitment to environmentally sustainable practices. In 2008 JPMorgan Chase pledged to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions 20% by 2012, and is on track to meet this target.
