Securities Lending Dashboard and Reporting Highlights

At J.P. Morgan we continually strive to improve our services. A major part of our enhanced client service offering is our continued investment in technology. In 2010, we released the fourth generation of our innovative securities lending dashboard, through the J.P. Morgan ACCESSSM platform, which provides our clients with real-time customized single view access to their accounts and monitors their securities lending activities with improved functionality. Key enhancements to the updated dashboard include:

  • Clients can filter their programs according to a significantly broader range of metrics embedded into the system, helping them capture the information they need to run their program more efficiently and effectively.
  • The Securities Lending Snapshot tool has been enhanced with an additional filter containing the option to choose between ‘Start of Day’ and ‘End of Day’ positions for all loan activity. Once a position type is selected, Snapshot refresh will update all widgets containing loan and collateral data.
  • New metrics have been added to the dashboard including a “Number of Loans” metric and an Overnight Liquidity % metric.
  • The Earnings to Date Label has been enhanced to display the range of months utilized in the Year to Date Earnings Calculation and users now have the option to select any yearend cycle date to be utilized in the Year to Date Earnings Calculation.
  • Dashboard now has the added option to export All Dashboard metrics to an XLS format. This functionality allows the User to manage the data on the Dashboard for the User’s reporting needs.
  • A new Cash Collateral by Currency widget displays a breakdown of cash collateral by the investment tendered currency of the collateral.
  • The New Cash Collateral by Currency Drill through Report displays a statement of the invested collateral. This drill-through report groups Issuers by the collateral currency and displays settled investments only. For the effective date, the report displays the Customer Name, Currency, Rate Type, Product, Issuer Name, Moody’s, Principal Amt, Reset Date and Maturity Date.

We have also made improvements to our Securities Lending reporting capabilities. Securities Lending Reporting highlights include:

  • The integration of securities lending into Views Portfolio Reporting (VPR), J.P. Morgan’s proprietary system for all securities and fund servicesclients, provides total program transparency, enabling better portfolio management.
  • Greater reporting flexibility, enhanced asset type classification, data consistency and faster system performance.
  • Reporting enhancements have been added that give users the option to see their report data separated by month when run over a range of multiple months. Reports have also been enhanced to split and allocate the weekend source system data to the appropriate month. Previously, for example, April 30 landed on a Friday, which meant that the Inventory, Loan and Collateral data for Saturday and Sunday was reported under Friday’s date. Now, the Daily Data for Saturday, May 1, and Sunday, May 2 in this example will instead be reported and averaged under the month of May.
  • All Securities Lending reports include enhancements that improve the data quality of the assets and allow users to see asset classifications defined with greater granularity. The new asset classes include Agency-MBS, Agency-Debentures, Corporate Bonds, Equities, Sovereigns, T-Bonds, T-Notes, T-Bills, and Miscellaneous.
  • To create a more consistent look and feel for all Securities Lending reports in the Views Portfolio Reporting suite, modifications have been made to the column naming conventions, report headers, data alignment, numerical data and precisions.
  • To improve data quality the wizard has been enhanced to include new fields in the report customize function such as Security Identifier, Tips Asset Identifier, Strips Asset Identifier, and Borrower indemnification indicator.
  • The report customize function has been updated with new fields in the Daily Account Earnings detail, the Statement Detail, the Loan Position Detail, the On Loan and Available section and to the Investment Daily Account Statement.

By constantly seeking feedback from our clients, we were able to develop and release a more dynamic version of the dashboard that is fine-tuned to meet our clients’ needs. J.P. Morgan’s securities lending dashboard continues to offer increasingly sophisticated functionality, remaining the most intuitive, flexible and easy-to-use platform in the industry.
