J.P. Morgan Highlights Public Sector Success With UK Department Of Work And Pensions Card Program

DWP Government Procurement Card Wins "Best Business Card Program" Award

London, 23 February 2011 - J.P. Morgan signaled the continued and growing success of its public sector card business by winning the 'Best Business Card Program' for its work with the United Kingdom's Department for Work and Pensions ("DWP") at The Card & Payments Awards 2011.

J.P. Morgan was recognized for developing and implementing the DWP Government Procurement Card (GPC). The contract with the DWP was the first GPC program issued under the new UK Government Payment Card (GPC3) framework agreement with Buying Solutions, the national procurement partner for UK public services.

J.P. Morgan is one of only six card issuers awarded to supply cards to the UK Government within the Buying Solutions framework agreement. The agreement enables the UK Government to benefit from J.P. Morgan's experience as a supplier of efficient, cost effective payment solutions to the public sector.

"Since our selection in 2009 as a supplier of commercial card solutions to the UK public sector, we have successfully translated our expertise developing and implementing global card program," said Eduardo Vergara, Global Commercial Card Executive, J.P. Morgan. "The relationship with the DWP and this award is evidence of our commitment to helping the public sector deliver greater savings and maximize efficiency."

Cate Luzio, Head of International Commercial Cards, J.P. Morgan, concluded: "The UK public sector is a major focus for J.P. Morgan as we continue to expand in the international markets. This award is a great recognition from the industry of the service we offer clients, who benefit from our experience in meeting the needs of central governments and non-governmental agencies from around the world."

The Card & Payments Awards recognized customer service, excellence and innovation in the UK and Irish card and payments industry.
