Grant is single largest annual contribution in BYSO’s history
Boston and New York, October 1, 2007 - The Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras (BYSO) will receive a grant of $100,000 from the JPMorgan Chase Foundation, representing the largest single annual contribution ever given to the BYSO.
The JPMorgan grant will fund 16 concerts in the BYSO's 50th anniversary season, which begins Sunday, October 7th at Boston's Symphony Hall. The donation will also support the BYSO's community outreach program, making 250 tickets available to local community youth groups that may not otherwise have the opportunity to attend orchestral concerts.
"JPMorgan Chase has been a regular supporter of BYSO and this gift shows their deepening commitment to the organization and Boston," said Catherine Weiskel, Executive Director.
"Our businesses, especially Fund Services, are seeing strong growth in Boston and the greater Massachusetts area, so we wanted to show our gratitude to the community," said Mark Kelley, head of JPMorgan U.S. Fund Services.
JPMorgan Chase serves more than 1.5 million consumer customers, over 150 middle market companies and has more than 1,000 employees in Massachusetts via its Commercial Bank, Fund Services and Private Banking businesses.

About Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras

Orchestras (formerly the Greater Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras or GBYSO)
continues to achieve the highest artistic standards, and remains committed to

players that performs a wide range of demanding orchestral repertoire, conducted
by Federico Cortese. The BYSO also has several preparatory ensembles that provide
training to aspiring youth musicians prior to possible acceptable into one of
