An evening panel discussion held by JPMorgan Private Bank 1st April 2004.
Maximising Value in Family Businesses is a series of discussions designed to tackle some of the challenges that families face by bringing the issues out into the open and discussing them with family business owners and seasoned advisers. The objective is to capture lessons learnt in the belief that families who recognise and discuss the issues they are facing stand the best chance of successfully resolving them.
The discussion was kicked off by Frank Brake, founder and former chairman of Brake Bros plc, who was then joined by members of our first panel to answer questions about some of the real reasons family business owners sell. Chris Hancock, Vice President, JPMorgan Private Bank, chaired our second panel of leading corporate finance advisers, who explored the importance of a family's commitment to a sale.
