Oct 16, 2007
JPMorgan has received four prestigious awards for investment banking from The Banker magazine:
-
Investment Bank of the Year - Americas
-
Bond Trading House of the Year
-
Financial Institutions Group (FIG) Capital Raising House of the Year
-
Loans House of the Year.
Commenting on the recognition, Michael Ridley, global co-head of Debt Capital Markets and Syndicate, said: “These awards not only recognize JPMorgan’s leadership position in the Americas, they also recognize the firm’s global prowess in the credit and fixed income industry. These accolades from The Banker confirm JPMorgan’s ability to provide clients with compelling capital solutions and impeccable execution and stand as a testament to the firm’s unrivalled position as a top liquidity provider.”
This is the second consecutive year that JPMorgan has won The Banker’s Bond Trading House of the Year award. “JPMorgan,” says The Banker, “is a consistent top-tier player across every aspect of the fixed income trading business and in every geography.”
The Banker also highlighted the firm’s model of seamless connectivity between origination, syndicate, trading and distribution in its coverage of JPMorgan’s FIG capital raising capabilities and elaborated on the consistent ability of JPMorgan’s leveraged finance teams to understand investors “across the entire credit spectrum.”
JPMorgan’s investment in new markets, such as alternative energy and its role in landmark transactions, such as the acquisition of Phelps Dodge by Freeport McMoRan, were cited in the magazine’s coverage describing why JPMorgan deserved the Investment Bank of the Year: Americas award.
The awards were based on the judgment of a panel of senior business leaders.
