1999:

Chase Manhattan Bank buys the activities of Banco Patrimônio de Investimentos.

 
 

1996:

Chemical Bank and Chase Manhattan merge.

 
 

1994:

The transformation of the J.P. Morgan Group's Distribuidora de Titulos e Valores Imobiliários sets the creation of a full-service bank, allowing J.P. Morgan to extend the range of its financial products and services, especially in the capital markets.

 
 

1991:

Chemical Bank and Manufacturers Hanover announce a merger. In Brazil, NorChem and local Manufacturers Hanover operations are merged.

1989:

Noroeste Chemical Bank changes its name to Bank NorChem.

 
 

1988:

J.P. Morgan buys Distrivolks' (Autolatina) and Banca Commerciale Italiana's patent, thus becoming a commercial bank and offering fixed income operations, foreign exchange, risk management and credit services to its clients.

 
 

1986:

J.P. Morgan begins to operate with J.P. Morgan CCTVM and with J.P. Morgan Investmentimentos e Finanças Ltda.

 
 

1982:

J.P. Morgan joins the Banco Inter-Atlantico SA in Brazil. The partnership ends in 1986, when the bank begins operating with CCTVM brokerage and with J.P. Morgan Investmentimentos e Finanças Ltda.

1975:

Chemical Bank joins Banco Noroeste SA and brings together two financial institutions, Banco Noroeste de Investimentos and the Chemical S/A Leasing Arrendamento Mercantil NorChem.

 
 

1966:

J.P. Morgan begins operating in Brazil, with a representative office.

 
 

1960:

Chase Manhattan Bank begins operating in Brazil through Banco Lar Brasileiro.
