- JPMorgan Asset Management has the most AAA rated managers over 3 years
- Georgina Brittain rated third overall in top 100 fund managers in the UK
In the latest Citywire ‘Top 100 Fund managers’ survey for 2008, JPMorgan Asset Management (JPMAM) has come 1st (equal) with 8 Citywire rated managers overall, over a period of 3 years.
JPMAM also topped the list of the most AAA Citywire rated managers with 5 listed in all. These were: Georgina Brittain, John Baker, Edward Pulling, Francesco Conte and Jim Campbell. Georgina Brittain, manager of the JPM UK Smaller Companies fund also took 3rd place out of the top 100 fund managers in the overall listings, based on a 3 year performance period. John Baker, manager of the JPM Europe Dynamic ex UK fund also landed the top spot in the Europe ex UK sector.
The Citywire survey of Britain’s Top 100 Fund Managers 2008 was based on Citywire’s analysis of active fund managers within the 24 main IMA unit trust sectors. The key result was each manager’s Citywire Manager Ratio, which is based on risk-adjusted performance across all the funds they managed over the three-year period to 31 December 2007. To qualify, managers had to have been an active fund manager of retail funds (trackers, institutional funds etc were stripped out of the analysis) within one of the 24 sectors and they still needed to have been active fund managers at the end of the period. The results list the 100 eligible managers with the highest risk-adjusted performance in descending order.
Citywire have also just released the results of their ‘Service Index’ poll where JPMorgan Asset Management were voted 2nd overall in the Investment Planning (Fund Managers only) category. In the survey, over 350 adviser panelists voted for their favoured product providers based on 4 criteria – Efficiency and Service, Relationship Management, E-Service and Ongoing Training and Support. JPMAM also came top of the table in the Southeast region where they were the only group across the UK to receive a perfect score in all of the above categories.
