J.P. Morgan Asset Management adds industry veterans to global institutional business

J.P. Morgan Asset Management today announced the appointment of Michael O’Brien to the newly created role of global head of its Institutional Client Group.

Effective September 27, Mr. O’Brien, based in London, will lead the firm’s charge to bolster its client coverage model to reflect institutional clients’ increasingly more global approach to asset allocation and investments. Mr. O’Brien will report to Mary Callahan Erdoes, CEO of J.P. Morgan Asset Management, and join JPMorgan Chase’s Executive Committee.

Earlier this month, J.P. Morgan Asset Management announced the appointment of industry veteran Patrick Thomson as the Global Head of Sovereign Clients.

Mr. Thomson will be based in London and will be responsible for and oversee teams of client advisors based around the globe that look after sovereign relationships for J.P. Morgan Asset Management. His international experience in alternative and traditional asset management and his extensive industry relationships will bolster J.P Morgan Asset Management’s growth in this increasingly important client area. He will report to Mr. O’Brien.
