Our History
From the very earliest days of global investing and the move away from fixed exchange rates in the early 1970s, JPMorgan Asset Management adhered to the view that currency exposures should be treated as a separate decision within a client's overall asset allocation. From these experiences, we progressed in the 1980s to the development of an active currency approach, where these skills could be applied to the currency exposure of assets managed by other firms. Along with several other early entrants, we became a pioneer in what is now an established industry.
