At JPMorgan, aptitude never goes to waste. Our consultants have ample opportunities to grow and to cultivate their skills. To do this we supplement on-the-job experience with a dynamic array of training opportunities.

Tuesday Training
In these weekly sessions you will learn about concepts essential to applying actuarial science to business practices. Plus, with the aid of a more experienced actuary, you have the opportunity to present on a range of topics, which may include anything from pension funding calculations to stock options plans.

Thursday Training
The other weekly training session, in which our entire actuarial team takes part, addresses industry news. These open-ended forums provide you with a window to the current issues that clients face, as experienced consultants analyze and discuss hot topics, new regulations, and new needs arising from some of the world’s largest and most sophisticated employers.

Exam Support
But training doesn’t end there. At JPMorgan, we provide our actuaries with the time, training and tools to take on every actuarial test with confidence. First, we provide up to 18 days of study time, depending on the exam taken. Second, each exam candidate is assigned an exam advisor, who works closely with assigned candidates. When necessary, the exam advisor is also available to act as a liaison with the Society of Actuaries. Finally, we’ve got your costs covered. JPMorgan reimburses all exam fees, books, study notes and manuals, seminar fees, and related travel and lodging expenses. JPMorgan extends similar exam support to those seeking Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification, providing you with the rare chance to build a designation unique among actuarial practices.

JPMorgan also holds special events to cross-pollinate knowledge. This year, our actuaries were teamed up with asset managers to manage $100 million of assets in a Fantasy Funds contest.
