About Us
J.P. Morgan Compensation and Benefit Strategies recognizes that the business of providing actuarial services has moved toward what many consider a commodity model. Many of our competitors can deliver the nuts-and-bolts actuarial services companies require to satisfy compliance standards. But J.P. Morgan differs significantly from other firms, and our success is testament to those differences. Through the following attributes, we will earn our clients' long-standing trust:
Innovation
New ideas don't come from our leaders alone. We take great care in fostering an environment of creativity and encouragement, so all of us are questioning tradition and thinking differently.
Leaders in quality
To our knowledge, J.P. Morgan was the first U.S. actuarial firm to subject its basic actuarial processes to the rigors of a SAS 70 audit procedure. All of our actuarial processes are SAS 70 Type II certified.
Empowering clients
J.P. Morgan operates on a "learning model" in which our clients bring plan and organizational knowledge, and we bring specific expertise, and new tools and resources. We give clients tools to develop better understanding and intuition about actuarial and benefit concepts, and collaborate to learn together. For years, we have installed ProVal on client desktops, for example, and given clients access to their data, their valuation results and the tools needed to model the future and establish sound financial management policies.
Defined benefit plans - finding opportunities
Defined benefit actuarial services is a growth area for us, one in which we continue to invest in new innovations. We have helped clients establish more than 50 new defined benefit plans in the past five years. That keeps us on the cutting edge of plan design.
Actuarial and pension thought leaders
J.P. Morgan led the actuarial profession in applying actuarial science to stock option program valuation. We actively encourage J.P. Morgan professionals to question tradition and think differently about employee benefit plans, to look for ways to make them as easy to administer and understand as possible.
Dedication to the profession
Our actuaries are active participants in numerous councils, task forces, committees and boards. We are recognized as leaders in the Conference of Consulting Actuaries and the American Academy of Actuaries.
