Sydney, 17 August, 2009 – J.P. Morgan today announced the 10th staging of the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge at Centennial Parklands, the Sydney stop of the world’s largest road racing series. The Corporate Challenge, a team competition that brought together nearly 7,500 runners from 309 companies in 2008, is scheduled this year for Wednesday, 11 November with a 6:30 p.m. race start.

Sydney is of 12 cities in six countries on five continents that host J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge events. To date in 2009, nearly 220,000 participants from over 7,300 companies have taken part.

Mr Rob Priestley, Chief Executive Officer of J.P. Morgan in Australia, said: “We are very proud to host the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge again this year in Sydney. This unique event underscores our local commitment by providing an evening of healthy competition.”

Appealing to the Sydney corporate community’s passion for fitness, the annual 5.6 kilometre team road race provides an exciting opportunity for everyone to come together, outside of the office for a night of teamwork and networking.

“We are focused on creating a positive event experience and an atmosphere which the many thousands of competitors will thoroughly enjoy on race night. In addition, we have appointed Pont3, the organiser of the Blackmores Sydney Running Festival, to manage this year’s event. Together, we are sure that this year’s J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge in Sydney will be one of the largest, most exciting and competitive to date,” Mr Priestley said.

Mr. Wayne Larden, Chief Executive Officer of Pont3, said: “We are extremely excited to be presenting this prestigious corporate event to the Sydney business sector. The J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge is a great opportunity to get out there with your colleagues and participate in a healthy activity, while building relationships with your peers and clients.

“It’s worth remembering that the event is open to all companies and government entities from all sectors, all that is required is a team of four people to participate,” he said.
