Charles Li to assume CEO role at Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing

Hong Kong, June 3, 2009  J.P. Morgan today announced that Charles Li, the Chairman of the firm's China businesses, is leaving to assume the role of Chief Executive Officer of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing.

Mr. Li joined J.P. Morgan in March 2003 and has made important contributions to the expansion of the firm's China franchise. In particular, he was responsible for some of J.P. Morgan's most prominent transactions in China which supported the development of the firm's reputation and standing in the country.

Mr. Gaby Abdelnour, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of J.P. Morgan, Asia Pacific said Mr. Li has had a significant influence over the success of the firm in China during his six years as Chairman. "Through his strong leadership and client relationships, Charles was able to expand our businesses and strengthen our position in China. He will be missed at J.P. Morgan and we wish him well with his move to this important position at the Hong Kong Stock Exchange," Abdelnour said.
